A PSALM SUNG TO NO HARP

They have eyes, yet do not see nature's sights;
they have noses, yet do not smell any fresh air;
they have ears, yet do not hear the harp on Earth.

Brains they have,
yet they do not dare to think for long.

They twist their tongues to speak against reason;
faithfully they build themselves temples and idols,
in great numbers, in silver and in gold;
callously they abuse their hands to hurt and kill
for the One Above Nature, and
for the other Men Above Nature.

They have ears, and hear the word of the wicked;
they have noses, and smell the smoke of battle;
they have eyes, and see the sites of destruction.

"Truth", they say,
while fanning the flames of falsehood.
