A PSALM SUNG TO NO HARP

They have eyes, yet do not see the natural sights;
they have noses, yet do not smell the freshest air;
they have ears, yet do not hear the harp on Earth.

Brains they have,
yet they do not dare to think for long.

They twist their tongues to speak against reason,
faithfully building themselves temples and idols,
in great numbers, in silver and in gold.
Callously they abuse their hands to hurt and kill
for the One beyond the bounds of nature,
for the Men above the rest.

They have ears, and hear the hordes of screamers;
they have noses, and smell the smoke of battle;
they have eyes, and see the sites of ruin.

"Truth", they say,
while fanning the flames of falsehood.
